not what was advertised the gym
-
It was close to central park, target, and the subway. The gym was nice and had lots of good equipment. The locker room and showers were nice enough. The bathrooms were disgusting. The staff was rude about the gym and locker rooms being closed. They closed early on weekends so we had to shower in the nasty bathrooms on our floor instead of the locker rooms. My roommates complained about the beds being uncomfortable. It’s a small room for 3 people. Sometimes the doors wouldn’t close all the way and felt unsafe. They were doing maintenance in the elevators so one would be closed and they were sometimes slow.

The only thing that’s good is the location. Everything else is abhorrent. The facility is dirty. The corners of both my and my daughter’s rooms were filled with dirt. It smelled almost like a nursing home. There was a bug crawling across the ceiling at bedtime. There are shared bathrooms and showers. I don’t think they could make the stalls any smaller if they tried. One of the showers didn’t have a light and the water temperature was unpredictable. There were men lined up outside the men’s bathroom in their underwear waiting to shower. The beds are the cheapest and squeakiest and smallest beds I’ve ever had the displeasure to sleep on. The mattresses feel like paper. The pillows feel like they’re made of cardboard. It honestly reminds me of a psychiatric hospital you’d see in a movie. My daughter said it reminded her of the place Tom Hanks stayed in in Big when he ran away from home. There is zero customer service. I have tried multiple times to reach someone to get a refund and cannot. We left after one night and went to the Hilton. The ymca still hasn’t responded to my messages and booking.com told me they won’t refund. Booking gave me a credit on my account, but given the horrible experience, I don’t trust booking to book any longer. The accommodations are honestly exaggeratedly bad. It’s like they purposefully bought the cheapest and most horrible things to furnish the room with. They need to power wash the place and go to IKEA and get better stuff. Just, why? It’s a scam. You think you’re saving money, but it’s actually not worth it at all.

location and staff excellent value for money my bed was basic and had 1 pillow but you get what you pay for and to be fair i didnt request a second one

I understand it is a big place with lots of activities but this pillow felt like a plastic back. Minor complaint though as everything else was great

location nothing

Location is great, close to Central Park and Times Square. Bed was comfortable and the luggage storage was handy. Would stay again Bathrooms we're a bit tired and the other guests like to check every available one and slam the doors. They are shared private bathrooms which is a bonus.

Location Some staff - very bad attitude

Excellent location, next to Central Park; a 5-minute walk to the Columbus Circle subway station; functional AC; many restaurants, shops, and stores around. It seems that housekeeping cleans only after check-out; front desk staff could be more friendly.
