6 Columbus Central Park Hotel

A bit more than we would like to pay but the location is excellent for going to Central Park or anywhere by train or cab. Very courteous staff. The excellent Blue Ribbon Suishi is conveniently located on the ground floor of the hotel for breakfast or dinner. The windows crank are broken and could not be opened.

My room was facing the back of some buildings and I saw some chimneys so at first I thought the smell was probably from some restaurant outside. But later I figured out it seemed to be from the vent and probably from the Japanese restaurant on the ground floor near the entrance.

No gym no coffee very ltd

The rooms was tiny and the air conditioning was extremely loud. The staff on the floor was nice.. except the last day just before the check out I was with my daughter who just had shower and a man suddenly entered into the room without knocking. In general the experience was poor.

Booked 6 Columbus it was my first time staying at the hotel loved the location. The staff was unbelievable very convenient to the train station across the street Starbucks downstairs really cute bar and bagel shop right next-door Loved it there. Will definitely stay there again.

Beautiful, attractive, clean and elegant hotel, in the best area of Manhattan! Staff if warm, kind, efficient and friendly. Have been coming back repeatedly. It’s my “home” in NYC!

Loved this place...had a one-night stay. Directly across from Circle Mall... great location with good restaurants nearby. Clean, great bathroom shower; I'd definitely stay there again. The snacks and in-room bar were also very nice.

Small rooms and bathrooms but fine for a weekend. Reasonable price. Comfortable bed. On site Japanese restaurant. Caution- $23 glass or Pinot noir.

Very very small room for the price

Unfortunately, the biggest problem was the mold in the bathrooms. Our first room had mold all over the shower walls. We contacted the staff, and they were very kind, and moved us to another room. The second room had less mold, but there was still some in the bathroom walls. Overall, we liked the location, rooms, and staff, but the condition of the bathrooms was very disappointing considering the price per night.

This property is in a great location but it is past its prime and is in a very worn condition. In my room (king bed on the second floor) the side tables were chipped up, the floor tiles were chipped, the handle kept falling off the shower, none of the pumps for the shampoo/conditioner worked, the windows were very dirty, and the walls are super thin (I get that last part it’s an old building in NY) One of the nights I was getting into bed and heard something in the bathroom, I got up and saw a dinner plate sized piece of the ceiling had fallen down, probably due to water damage above me. Also a ew years ago when I stayed here I enjoyed the heated floors in the bathroom but the until was not working properly in my bathroom. There’s also no information in the room about any of the mentioned “amenities” you get a menu for the sushi restaurant downstairs but even that has no information on how to call or contact them to place an order. Overall I think a few years ago this hotel was probably really nice but now it’s past its prime and in severe need of a refresh. Especially considering it was $800 per night to stay here!!!

Great hotel in a great location. Stayed here to be near Central Park but also walking distance to Broadway shows. Hotel staff were helpful and addressed all of our requests. Convenient to food, coffee shops, etc... Will likely stay here again in the future. We did not eat in any of the hotel restaurants, so I'm not able to comment on that aspect, but I had a drink in the hotel bar one night and it was fine.

When we arrived, they didn't know what room we'd be in, yet it is a small boutique hotel. It was said to be a 'luxury' hotel, yet we don't agree. Our view out of one small window that did not open was to another building rooftop where extraneous garbage from leftover parties that were never cleaned up were thrown around. The other small window view was of the apartment building next door, and activities in those apartments could easily be viewed. The bathroom was small with a frosted window that did not open. The towels were actually frayed from many years of use. I mentioned it to the manager, yet nothing was done. The small refrigerator was filled with bottles and cans of beverages we didn't want and it left us no access for our own use. The only flat space in the room was a top cabinet which was also taken up by snacks and alcohol to be purchased, The refrigerator door interfered with the closing of the exterior cabinet door. There was one bathrobe for use in the closet for a two person bedroom. The mattress wasn't luxury comfort; this 1920's hotel had no room for luggage utilization. The safe was in the closet on the floor, unusable. No 'amenities' existed, and they did remove that daily expense. The online pictures we used to decide to book that hotel location were extremely misleading, all the rooms and halls were very dark, so we used our cell phone lights to find the elevator button. We would give this hotel a 3.0 with its' only redeeming quality being the location.

Great hotel and well located. My only suggestion is to put in an automatic front door and also a ramp -- the steps and door are difficult to navigate with large bags.

Was perfect for a quick stay .

Cons: Expensive, claustrophobic, indifferent staff, rooms smell like lysol, window looked out bricks and a trash chute.

It was a nice clean place, and felt safe. It was in a good location. The only thing was that the rooms are so small. It was like a sardine can, and seemed expensive for that amount of space. But, I would stay here again if it were less expensive.

We went to check in a few hours early and they said if a room was available early, they would let us know. Just as the man at the desk was saying that, he saw a room had just opened up, so we got to check in around 12:30 when check in is normally 3 which was an amazing start. Our room was great and the balcony was a terrace which may have been an upgrade from what I originally booked. Regardless, it was a great stay.
