AC Hotel by Marriott Portland Downtown, OR

Check in day was great, front desk lady was able to check us in early to put our stuff in a room so we could return our car. After that everything else was mediocre. Desk staff wasn't the nicest when we asked for things due to cleaning staff not going to our room for unknown reasons. Putting us on hold multiple times when calling for room service only to be told the kitchen was closed 15 minutest early but we were on hold a good 5. Bed was hard, pillows uncomfortable, fire alarm light was so bright when blinking at night, little shower pressure. Area wasn't the greatest, loud cars midle of night racing down streets and garbage trucks at 430-530 in the morning empting cans. Lot of little things that aren't on the hotel itself but overall add up to make it feel like a unsuccessful vacation.

I stayed here with about 8 other colleagues for a business trip. We did not really eat the breakfast and it was just OK. The staff were awesome, the room was clean, ice and water machines on each floor was a very nice amenity. The bar staff and drink options were great. The hotel offers a large food menu. We did not order food but the dishes I saw coming out looked good. The location was perfect in downtown which is now cleaned up and seemed very safe.

Very nice hotel in downtown Portland. The staff was attentive and the valet staff was good. The room was clean and comfortable and well designed. The exceptions with the design were: 1) the toilet was a square bowl and square seat which was awkward to sit on and also very low to the ground. 2) there was very little space (18" of cross bar ) to hand up clothes and 2 small drawers under the safe. That was all the room that was given to store clothing (for a room with 2 queen beds). Underneath the TV, that was hung on the wall, was a seating bench that almost spanned the width of the room. The bottom of the bench was open space that had recessed lighting. There was of us in that room - for a 4 night stay, with no where to place our clothes, other than on the bench. By a stroke of luck the cross bar had enough hangers and space for my suit and and wife's dresses that required hanging. Nice hotel but somewhat awkward toilet and no space for clothes for longer stays.

Location, design, beds, view, and ceiling-mounted shower head Nothing complimentary (like coffee; for this price, we could have stayed at a nearby hotel with that, plus breakfast, evening marshmallows, etc.), and no welcoming atmosphere; we felt like we were in an apartment complex. No body lotion, lol. Also, we reserved two separate rooms for our parents and us. I expected us to be closer together, not living on different floors...

Not a knock on Marriott but really the concern is with downtown Portland. The homeless population was rather abundant especially at night. The area around the Marriott was much better controlled but a block in all directions it changed drastically. For this reason I could not recommend anyone stay in the downtown area at all. During the day it was less of an issue but still present.

The room was decent and clean . The quality of the morning breakfast could be improved. Espresso tablets were gone this morning and were not refilled; none of the drinks were refilled. Tables were not cleaned on time, and one lady who was working there seemed to have too much to do to keep it running smoothly.

Location was great, price was fair, room was clean and comfortable. The included breakfast was very good and the girl who ran the breakfast area was very friendly and helpful. Front desk wasn't very friendly. No lock on bathroom door.

Our stay was great and the hotel had everything that we could need to stay in Portland for a few nights. Room cleaning is every other day and I really like the 24/7 desk service.

We were located near the ice machine, we can here everytime some ones stops for ice. The whole 2floor smells likes food they even.
