AC Hotel by Marriott Portland Downtown, OR

Example: They charge $52/nite for valet parking when there’s a parking garage 1/2 block away that’s only $12. And, in case anyone says we’re paying for “convenience” — it takes 20 minutes for them to bring you your car. Although, I will say, the valet staff were the ONLY staffers remotely helpful during our stay, so props to them! The hotel charges $15.95 pp for a terrible breakfast that isn’t even on par with free breakfast buffets I’ve had at other hotels. When I say terrible, I’m referring to things like sous vide egg bites which were virtual hockey pucks that I had to throw away. They clunked when dropped in the bin. On Sunday, they didn’t even bother opening their coffee shop or serving breakfast, and when several people asked the front desk, the guy couldn’t even be bothered to look up, just mumbled something about “not today” didn’t bother to offer alternatives. We were in town for a Guinness World Record bike ride and had our bikes stored on-site for ease of access. Upon check-out heard a staff member mutter about “not storing bikes anymore!” In every way possible, it just felt like the staff should not be working in hospitality services, that we were all an inconvenience, and quality didn’t matter.

Great location in downtown Portland, with lots nearby.

My bed sheets had some stains on it, the pull out couch had food crumbs all over. When I had asked for fitted sheets and a blanket for the bare mattress for the pull out couch, I recieved weird and confused stares from the staff member I was talking to and another member that was listening from the side. Never again staying here.

Breakfast wasn't included like I thought I booked for. And parking was kinda pain in the butt but I parked at public parking for low price rate

For a 2 day stay we requested, room cleaning, but no one came. Had to repeatedly ask for towels in room and someone come and make sofa bed. Overall the staff attentiveness was not up to the par.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was within walking distance to most anything we wanted to do. We had a family member that had surgery at OSHU. The only downfall was there is no shuttle to get you two or from the hospital.

The property was nice & well maintained. I booked a room with double beds (& paid in advance), however, the request was not honored. The bathroom made having company in the room awkward, as the bathroom door/wall design was transparent. You could see into the shower & toilet area. The sink was not enclosed, it was near the entrance of the room. Breakfast was provided for a fee.

Hotel itself is very nice and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The room was good, the vinyl flooring had raised areas in it, almost like the room had flooded at some point. The walls are thin, we could here someone in the adjoining room snoring and another night someone else's alarm buzzing. We ordered their Caprese salad on two separate occasions. The first one was excellent, however the second one had mushy tomatoes, almost looked rotten.

Nice location it’s in a good spot with walking distance to a lot of places. The staff was very nice and helpful. I wish they had a pool and a better parking system.

Such a great place to stay for the Blues Festival

I appreciated the ability to check in early. We were only in town for 3.5 days so being timely was super important. On our first full day in town we were gonna head to forks Washington. About a 5 hour trip. Needless to say called for valet ($50 a day btw) and got no answer. I had to walk into the back office and wake up the valet person so I could get my car to leave. But the real digger was that morning/evening front desk staff don’t communicate with each other so I was hit with 3 seperate charges for the same thing 3 days in a row. $200 deposit no big deal. When I finally check my car and see it’s now up to $460 deposit. I have an issue. Sure the money will be put back on my card but in 5-7 business days. The options for parking sucked. The rooms are cleaned every other day. Just a list of things I wasn’t happy about. We won’t be staying at this location again in the future
