Reviews

Excellent location for Amtrak travelers - it's a 10-minute walk to/from the station. It's located on one end of Main Street, where there are lots of cute shops, cafes and restaurants. In advance, read the emails about the property - how to access it and what's included. There may not be staff there to help. Rooms were recently renovated and very comfortable.

This is a very basic hotel. There is very little space to put down your luggage in the room except the floor. No luggage stand was provided in the room. One of the window blinds in the room didn't open and the front desk person didn't seem surprised when I reported it. We stayed 2 nights. The morning we left the elevator was broken. I had to carry 200lb of luggage down 3 flights of stairs. I told the person at the front desk that I was very unhappy about my stay and they said they'll report it to the owners. I did not hear from anyone at the hotel after I checked out.

Clean room and close to lots of public transit.

Room and bathroom were clean. Lobby is basic and beginning to wear down. Staff interactions were purely utilitarian - not really there for customer service satisfaction, just for basic exchanges. Half of the time they were not at the front desk when we needed them (eg to store our luggage for us), so we had to call them by phone and eventually a person came out. Our stay was totally fine but customer service was underwhelming for sure.
-
an attractive older building, lots of windows in the room and they even open a bit

I saw an individual get beat up outside, a tree fall in the park and made sure I watched my back when I went outside. General safety was an issue outside the building. In addition, No coffee or microwave in rooms and hotel had a strange smell in it. I give them props for effort but I will not be staying there again.
-
Unique place to stay. Older hotel but perfect for our 1 night stay.

I was only in Portland for one night and stayed at the Harlow Hotel, but it was a great stay. Brendan at the front desk was incredibly helpful and had great recommendations for the area! I will 100% be back and stay here again.

Shampoo packets are hard to open in the shower when your hands are wet.

Staff was friendly, property was very clean, room had AC. The neighborhood does have a lot of homeless and parking can be a bit tricky.
-
The room was very clean, and staff was great allowing check-in before 4pm, and waiting in the lobby post Noon checkout time. Location is great regarding access to Amtrak/Union Station, Pearl District, and street cars to/from downtown.
-
The room was pretty clean, but there was a light stain on the bedsheet. The bathroom only had bar soap for both the sink and shower and it was extremely drying for the skin. The 24/7 cafe confused me because there isn’t an attendant at all times, and the options aren’t great. When there was an attendant in the morning, they weren’t very cheerful. The location was convenient as it is a 6 minute walk from the train station. To my knowledge there is no parking onsite.

Good one night stay.

Cool that it is one of the oldest buildings in Portland. But sad that the immediate neighborhood has declined. The

Close to train station which is both a pro and con.

Location was walkable to things if you like to walk a lot. Hotel was fine older but decent. Lots of homeless ppl out front of hotel so if that doesn’t sit well with you don’t chose this place. Parking is only street parking. Staff was great
