Location is fantastic and a nice getaway from the main parts of town while still having all of that be accessible. Bar is exceptional and overall aesthetic is interesting. Hotel seems to have not been well maintained over the years. We've been coming here for years and the hotel did not have the same flair as what we remembered. The carpets looked like they could use a good shampoo and they were fraying in the ends, there was a mismatched couch cover which did not fully fit on the couch in our suite which looked like it came from Amazon for $15. The paint touch ups in our room were also of mismatched paint. It was just drab and instead of looking vintage and charming it all looked dated and not well maintained. The amenities in the room were also quite simple. No free water bottles, no extra toiletries (i.e. cotton swabs, rounds, etc.).

I am reaching out to you after having no luck with the front desk staff resolving our issues. (I should also mention that the front desk was left unattended for about 10 minutes during peak checkout time between 10:00 and 11:00 on Saturday so we had to wait in line for the privilege of being brushed off.) After two lovely past stays in 2-queen rooms at the Deluxe with friends, I booked a Premier King Suite to celebrate my birthday and anniversary with my husband. The state of the room was appalling, totally inconsistent with what I have experienced at this property in the past. I will attach photos so you can evaluate whether you think this is acceptable for a hotel that bills itself on the website as "elegant" and "glamorous" with "precision in every detail." Broken furniture repaired with electrical tape; upholstery stained with visible spatter and falling apart; sofa with a ratty ill-fitting cover; evidence of surface cleaning but in desperate need of a deep clean with visible dirty handprints on the walls, grime in the carpets and fabrics, bloody boogers on the shower tile; and a broken phone that would not call the front desk. Because the hotel was fully booked we were unable to move rooms. We also couldn't find an alternate hotel available for both nights in the area, so while we were able to cancel our second night through Expedia

With a historic hotel, you expect some rustic charm, but old-charm vs disrepair and lack of thorough cleaning are different. The bathroom was problematic. The shower head sprayed in several directions, getting the window ledge next to it wet because the shower curtain didn't close all the way. The sink had zero counter space and the glass shelf next to it was loose. While trying to get ready for an event, my hair and makeup products kept sliding into the sink and/or tilting the shelf backwards. It was very frustrating. The mirrors were situated where neither were helpful for anything other than looking straight at myself and there were no hand or full-length mirrors. The back of the door, which hit the toilet, had peeled paint and you could see discolored, rotting wood. When I wanted coffee in the morning, I had to wheel the cart it was on to a place where I could plug it in (the bathroom). When doing so, I noticed that the cart itself was very dusty except for the front that is visible when casually inspecting. The bottom of the cart was thick with dust as was the back portion of the desk/dresser top. I really like the charm of the older, boutique hotels, but this stay just wasn't great. It served its purpose, but it was also a bit of a bummer.

Nice staff, location was central to downtown. Can walk or take the monorail. Water was very warm to hot, could not figure out how to cool it down.

This was not a 4 star hotel. This was a motel quality. So dirty. First room - no ventilation in the restroom. second room - bathtub did not drain water. The breakfast is not free. Parking is 40 dollars a night. Ridiculously high. So many homeless people around. Not safe to walk around if you don't rent a car. And if you rent a car, there is no parking unless you pay 20 a day and 40 a night. Housekeeping did not clean the toilet. They only made the bed and left towels. Curtains were so dirty. Some random kids running around on the upper floor at 9pm and had to call the front desk.

Staff was extremely rude , not helpful and Every time I come to this hotel the staff Is rude, disrespectful! I sat in the lobby and watched them deal with other customers annd there attitudes were completely different!! I don’t understand how they can be so unprofessional in a space I paid to stay In! To treat me rudely and not accommodate me is completely unacceptable. I booked a room through Expedia and there systems were down which happens but rather than try and help me and speak respectfully he basically kicked me out and said he couldn’t help me at all. It’s not what you say but how you say It… just horrible

The room was very large and very clean. The lobby is gorgeous and well kept. My only complaint was the parking situation. The parking garage they provide access to closes at 10:00 p.m. and they did not provide information on how to access it after hours. This necessitated parking on the street, and a trip to the front desk, resulting in a long delay in accessing parking. The staff at the front desk is very kind and responsive in person, but not very prompt at answering the phone.
