Moxy Portland Downtown

Don’t get ready for a black tie event here. No desk, no overhead lighting, and/or vanity lighting (I’m 5’2” and the shelf on bathroom vanity mirror prevented me from seeing half of my face). No mini fridge, no vending machines, no hotel or amenity information in room. Bed was comfy. Was not comfortable having housekeeping service over 4 days without a safe. I dealt with it, loved most of the staff (after I utilized the lobby bar), and enjoyed the proximity to downtown shopping. Overall it was ok, but I would have preferred more comforting amenities as an anxious solo traveller.

I chose this hotel because of it's location (near Powell's Books) and the rate was less than Hotel DeLuxe where I usually stay. It's a short walk from the light rail station and the staff were friendly and welcoming. I especially appreciated the free drink ticket upon checking in. My room was small but had everything I needed. I will definitely stay there again!

Clean. Great location. Helpful staff. The unique thing about the room was the presence of a noise canceling ambient sound machine.

Simple room and great staff! Paper thin walls but noise machines make it easy to forget.

We have stayed here multiple times and love it. We appreciate the friendliness of the staff, the on-site bar, and overall vibe. Be sure to check out the fun vending machine and photo booth.

The guys at check in were great! Room we were in was spacious, understandably guests may have a different experience. Great location downtown, very walkable, actually decent gym weights in the basement. Had a nice time staying here.

Overall great stay and location. Beds were just hard and pillows flimsy.

I used to live in Portland and didn’t even know this hotel existed. Come to find out it’s been around for about five years and let me just say that they know how to make a guest feel welcome. From a greeting to everyone that walks in the door to basically an art gallery at bar in the lobby to providing you all the extra towels and soap and everything that you need without question I will definitely be back.

Duncan and his staff will take the best care of you. We’ll be staying here for any future Portland trips for sure.

The Moxy is a fun bar on the street level with a hotel sitting on top of it. The workout room is great. There are a couple of take out kiosks adjacent to the bar--but they were not open most of the 6 days I was there. There is a QR code to scan for room service--but who knows where the food comes from? Plan to eat out every meal! Fun place if you're an alcoholic!
