The biggest issue was the noise. Ongoing street construction made every passing car sound like a gunshot, making it nearly impossible to get a good night's sleep. Hotel did offer ear plugs and noise canceling machine… Room service is only available in the morning, and there aren't any convenience stores nearby. However, there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance, including a good restaurant on the property. Overall, this hotel did not live up to its rating, and I wouldn't stay here again. DO NOT USE THE SELF PARKING LOT NEXT TO HOTEL ON CORNER OF 11th/ALDER! Several cars were broken into when we stayed there on several nights. USE HOTEL VALLET!

Great location for our downtown adventure with close proximity to many attractions and public transport. The hotel was cute and comfortable. Our room was a good size too. There was some nearby construction that was quite loud early morning, but the helpful staff let us know when we checked in and offered ear plugs and noise machine. Would definitely recommend if you want to be centrally located.

We've stayed at Sentential several times over the years and never tire of the stately architecture and level of original construction quality. Service is always good to excellent, though few will appreciate the additional $65 per day cost associated with valet parking (the nearest public parking lot is subject to frequent break-ins) or the $29 per day charge for 'Guest Amenity Fee'. (FYI: On our last visit, the cost of valet parking for three days on the street outside the hotel totaled $295.95).

Lovely hotel in central Portland. Had a great vibe and the room was lovely

Beautiful historic building. My room had high ceilings and a fireplace and real furniture not of the chain hotel variety. Best of all, good pillows and a comfortable bed. I liked most everything. Needed to wait 30 mins for room to be ready but not a big deal.
-
Clean room, facilities and comfortable bed/pillows! We looooove the architecture of this entire building and having it be attached to three dining/bar options is so nice. We can’t wait to come back!

Best staff, ever! Beautiful property, excellent and safe location.
-
Beautiful hotel. Wish we were able to stay more than 1 night to explore/use the amenities. We are planning another trip to Portland & the Sentinel will be where we stay.

We had a nice stay at this property. Things we loved were our terrace, the general aesthetic of our room and the ease of checking in. On the cons side, the hotel looks pretty worked in certain areas. The furniture is peeling and the ceiling showed major signs of water damage. The “Room at the End of the Hall” was kind of waste of our time - pudding, applesauce and string cheese seemed appropriate for a different crowd, perhaps, and the beverage selection was nothing other than yuck flavors of Waterloo. For a heavily touted hotel amenity, the execution was more snack mom for soccer games than club level treat.

The facility was amazing, Elmer was phenomenal at check-in, sharing information and all around professinal and pleasant. The room was gorgeous and the terrace was a must for staying in downtown

This boutique hotel is located in a historic building that has been thoughtfully restored. The room was spacious and well appointed. I especially like the bar / lounge area with its beautiful decor. Centrally located. Nice staff.

Location is not that good, very close to homelesses

Location, staff and quality of accommodation

Wonderful checkin and stay up until the last day. Ordered breakfast via room service and it never came and no notification was given that it wasn't coming.

Every time I stay, I am embraced by the most professional team. Highly recommend.
-
The room was beautiful. The terrace overlooking downtown was especially. The A/C was very inconsistent. Never did get it to cool properly. And the large round table in the corner was both ugly and a waste of space. The space would be better served with a nice desk and chair looking out of the window.
-
The hotel was classic & the room was cozy & comfortable, & beautiful! Would definitely stay again.
-
Beautiful building. Nice lobby, spacious room, access to Shinola bikes, wine hour, nice staff Not informed of construction outside our room, although apologized and compensated generously.
-
The staff was exceptionally nice and helpful. The price of parking was extremely high for one night. I would recommend not taking a car.
