The place was great, close to everything. No parking area in the hotel, you need to look for parking and it is expensive if you stay several days. We have a problem in the room that was assigned to us but the staff was very helpful and resolve the situation right away.

The Hotel is in a very lively and convenient area of downtown Portland just 400 feet from Powell’s Books. The staff was very responsive and helped us stay in a quiet room on the top floor. The coffee and tea selection were better than the average hotel and the room itself beautiful and spacious with nice views. We would definitely stay there again!

I stayed here 10 years ago when it was still the Ace Hotel. My experience then was great. The Clyde is basically using the esthetics Ace created but ripped out all the soul. Nothing seems to have been updated in 10 years, including the air conditioning which did not work in my room. Since there was no one at the front desk I had a 3 hour text exchange with someone who advised me to flip the breaker and unplug the air conditioner to reset it. That alone sounds like a liability. Seeing as thw air conditioner is 12 feet off the ground the only way I could reach it was to flip over the trash can, stand on top of it and hope it doesn't cave in. While up there unplugging it i checked the filter which unleashed a shower of thick dust in my face. The other solution i was given was a fan that was located in the towel cabinet by the front desk. Only problem is, there was no fan in the cabinet by the front desk. Finally they switched me to another room. That problem was finally solved but I woke up this morning to shower and there were no towels, so I had to walk back down to the lobby to the towel cabinet i was very familiar with at this point. After I checked out I get a text from the anonymous reach by text front desk clerk apologizing and offering me a 10% coupon off my next stay. Honestly, if they didn't make an offer at all I probably wouldn't have left this review and just never stayed there again. But the shear audacity of offering a 10% coupon on a FUTURE visit was too much.

Would have picked a different hotel, parking was a hassle, no staff around , random people come to lobby , small room, bed low to ground, some shared bathrooms, just skip this property

staff was nice. i appreciate them i got locked in the bathroom for an hour cuz the door broke and i couldn’t call the front desk directly it had to be wired to some indian call center 1st. kind of insane tbh to be locked in the bathroom at a hotel. staff was really nice but i feel it is a little silly insane no like upper management reached out being like yeah im sorry you got trapped in our bathroom for an hour

Wonderful hotel. I enjoyed my stay. The room, the location, staff, amenities - all were great. Will stay here again next time.

Large, clean (shared) bathrooms, nice sitting area on the first landing, efficient online check-in There are many street sleepers and drug addicts in the neighbourhood. Our car, which was parked in paid parking a couple of blocks from the hotel, had the rear window smashed and a bag stolen. Apparently, this is very common in Downtown Portland. It would have been good if the hotel had warned us not to leave anything in the car.

Great location near Powell's and other great sites & restaurants. And I loved the adjacent coffeeshop where we could use our in-room tokens for coffee. Really lovely people fulfilling the Portland vibe!
-
Great location, good leftover design from Ace days, good custodial services. Kasa Has invested very little in this property as a rebrand.

It was great. Ac could have worked better.
-
A great room with a novel layout.
-
Close to all Portland has to offer!
-
Great space and they even upgraded our room when we asked for an early check in

Everything ??????

The place is worn Piet and run down and has no life to it. Bare bones basics. If you’re looking for it to feel like the old ace hotel…. Look somewhere else.
-
Room 1: full wall window in the bathroom. You'll be exposed to the whole street. Room 2: coldest shower in existence, no door, so you'll have goosebumps in the shower.

The property was lovely and was kept very clean. It was my first trip solo and I felt very welcome here. The attached coffee shop was also a huge plus.

N/A This hotel was the biggest disappointment for me, as I never actually made it there. This hotel was recommended by Bring Fido as it accepted large dogs. Being a Booking.com Genius, I booked through there, but nowhere did the information cover the breed restrictions. As The Clyde was my second stop on a 2 hotel trip, I did not think to check into The Clyde before I checked into my first hotel, Aloft Sacramento. Unfortunately, my dog was of a restricted breed, and there was no support in amending these issues. To make matters worse, they actually told me they would be happy to accommodate me if I didn't bring him. Being that I had explained to them the nature of my trip, this seemed strange. The repetitive, vague explanations that required me to ask follow-up questions just to get a clear answer made me feel like I was working with a client in a rehab treatment facility, trying to get to the bottom of what they were trying to say. With such a long list of restricted breeds, you might as well just say that you only accept small dogs, and be more upfront about your policies at the time of booking, instead of sending it in a check-in email right at the cutoff time for the 48-hour cancellation. I will also notify BringFido to ensure the long list of "bad dogs" is shared openly to prevent this type of issue from happening to other pet parents, where they will lose all of their money in the process.
