Aloft by Marriott New York Chelsea

I have stayed in several Aloft locations in different cities. I live the modern amenities and they always located in great areas. I lived this location because everything was walkable and the subway access was super close

Perfect location!! Walking distance from penn station. Quick access to the train. Clean room and comfortable bed. Will definitely stay here again.

Clean room. Staff super friendly and responsive. Good amenities. Great location. Blocks from Madison square gardens, Chelsea restaurants, and subway access. The street is the garden district so it was so nice to walk out to every shop putting out flowers and plants on the street every morning.

Room was spacious for NYC and very clean. The AC kept stopping with an error code and had to constantly be reset in the middle of the night, which isn’t the best thing during a heat wave. The elevator was also temporarily down so we had to trudge up and down 20+ flights each way.

I like the aesthetics of the hotel and my room. The staff was courteous and nice. The toilets did not flush properly. The shower system was overly complicated. There was a dog barking all night. I could not sleep.

I would not call this hotel a Marriott. The rooms were spotless but extremely noisy from the street and the corridor. No such thing as a quiet room in this hotel. Elevators were consistently broken and customers had to walk up and down the 20+ floors. No amenities given in the room for a 4 star hotel. No cupboard to put clothes in. No ironing board. Steamer didn’t work. Hair dryer was ok. Elevator took a very long time to arrive and hotel doesn’t take Apple Pay. They charge you to store luggage $6 per item. Lobby area is minuscule and no breakfast room. It’s more of an extension of the hallway. The beds however are comfortable but if you hate noise you will hate this hotel as every single room is next to the elevator or stairwell. The staff also blast music whilst cleaning. Location wise you can’t beat it. Definitely feels more like a hostel than a hotel. Not enough space for the guests to relax or wait. The staff are polite and friendly.

The location of the hotel was great! Chelsea is a fun neighbourhood to be in. The hotel is located near a subway station but it's also within walking distance to many food/drink spots, as well as other neighbourhoods. The staff is super friendly and responds fast to requests! We'd definitely come back! Not applicable. There wasn't anything that we didn't like about the hotel.

I booked the city view room and paid more for it and the view was terrible, unlike what was shown in their pictures. Talked with the receptionist and she said you are on the 19 floor this is a city view!!

Great hotel, bathroom is small and no lock - minor inconvenience. Views are spectacular
