Ameritania Hotel at Times Square

It was good. The staff was pleasant and very helpful. Check in and Check out was fast. It was a pleasant stay.

Great hotel in a fantastic location, within 5 min walk of Times Square. Room on small side but more than adequate for our needs as most of the time is spent outside of hotel. Complimentary drinks at certain times but again didn’t use, but still a nice touch. Would definitely use again if visiting NY

We had a wonderful time in New York - as always. And our stay at the Ameritania was acceptable. Not great-but not bad. We will likely look around when we return next year for other hotel options. The highlight of the hotel was the location: near subway stations, restaurants, central park and Times Square. The staff was pleasant for the better part of the stay. We did run into a bit of dishonesty when we checked out and thought that we were taking advantage of their airport shuttle. I was (inadvertently? - perhaps) quoted the wrong price in which I did not discover until I was charged a higher price at the airport. My original plan was Lyft, which would have been cheaper. My other concern was that I had to go to a nearby Starbucks every morning at 6AM, because (for some reason) coffee in the lobby is not served until 7AM -- which is when I usually left the hotel. All in all. Not a bad stay -- but I will likely stay elsewhere next year.

Excellent location, walking distance from Times Square and the subway station. Many restaurants & pubs around. Would have been great to have breakfast included.

We’ve been staying at the Ameritania Hotel since 2007 and it’s only gotten better. The location is so ideal because you’re only blocks away from Times Square, fifth Avenue and Central Park along with so many train stations. The staff checking us in made us feel so welcome. The afternoon complementary glass of wine was so appreciated. But Jeff really went above and beyond. His kindness, friendliness and sincerity when asking how our stay is going, made us feel like home. Thank you to the entire staff. We look forward to our next trip to the Ameritania!

Great location and easy access to everything

Nice hotel. Good rooms, very clean, Staff at front desk was very helpful and accommodating. However general staff could use training on how to provide professional service (bell men stand around waiting for you to ask them for help, maid service is clueless about how to do their work without banging doors as if no one sleeping or woeking. Could easily be solved by giving them.door stoppers). People slamming doors made it hard to sleep or work. Should put signs to be considerat of others or install door hinges to slow closure. Truly annoying!!! Would also be nice if they had a small store for snacks, coffee, food items. Good hotel but could be so much better. The good news is the ongoing construction was not noticeable.

Stayed at this hotel every time i have been to nyc for the last 20 years. Great value for sure but the staff and service are what makes me come back every time.

Location Price, but what's cheap in NY?

Wasn't told until arrive that the building was under reservation. The rooms were tired and in need on updating. The photos are a little misleading. But the staff were friendly and location is amazing.

Great stay, friendly and helpful staff. Good location for Broadway, Times Square, Central Park. About 1 mile from train station. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. Beds and shower were awesome!

Everything it was GREAT Nothing

Room was ready right on time and the staff was very helpful when it came to holding my luggage and helping arrange transportation to the airport. I liked the location's proximity to the theater I was attending and Central Park.

Building surrounded by scaffolding and not advertised as such. Be prepared to hear every horn as the windows are single pane. We couldn't get much sleep in this hotel and didn't have much of a view. Faculties are also lacking for so a called "4-star" hotel. Skip and save you money.

Great location. Close to Central Park, Times Square, and subway. Loved the waterfall shower and the bed and pillows were so comfortable. Staff was very helpful.

The room was fine; the bathroom was nice. Scaffolding covers the whole building. Good location. The Wi-Fi didn't work, and as a business traveler, that's unacceptable. I couldn't take a video call, and the network was unsecured and had no password.
