Definitely visit!

This is the 3rd time we stayed at this hotel and I will never stay here again. Lots of construction around so street noise is an issue. The toilets have been leaking/running the last 2 stays, even after we moved rooms. I did get a refund of the “resort fee” (such a ripoff, as this is clearly NOT a resort), but not without multiple conversations with the management.

This hotel has a perfect location, exceptionally friendly staff, and very clean rooms, but you definitely shouldn't expect anything fancy. The rooms are small and show significant wear and tear: the old bed frame is peeling, the wallpaper is coming unglued in several spots, and the wall clock was completely broken with missing hands. It's a solid choice if you just need a convenient and clean place to sleep.

The doormen were very helpful. I was especially impressed when one predicted rain even when my phone said clear skies. I took my umbrella ans was glad I did—it poured.

Rooms are a little dated, but the location and service makes up for it. Would definitely stay again.

Very good place, everything close I love it.

Great staff and very accommodating. We traveled with our 1 year old and they upgraded us to a bigger bed.

Great location

The location was ideal for upper manhattan visits and Central Park, time square and a broadway show. Access to subway and Ubers a bit more difficult. The hotel gave a private quiet vibe. The current construction was not mentioned and thus noise was my alarm clock . I was given a handicap room and that was different. Ask for extra towels when you arrive. Overall I’d give it a B. Did not deter me from returning.

The room was cleaning shower and beds are nice . They have a happy wine hour at the hotel and the staff is great there open and closing doors for you . It’s worth it as well if you want to go to timesquares it only up the street from the Broadway shows and time square it’s worth it . The price is worth it as well one of the cheaper sides but great .

The room was extremely small and had a strong mildew smell. There were visible stains on both the walls and ceiling. When I arrived, the shower and bathroom floor were dirty, the toilet had not been properly cleaned, and the bathroom door appeared to have water damage or rot. The carpet was also visibly dirty. Overall, the room did not feel clean or well-maintained, and I was very uncomfortable during my stay. I was initially planning to leave a positive review because the staff members I interacted with were friendly and pleasant. However, my experience with the transportation service at the end of my stay changed my impression of the property. I told the gentleman at the door that I planned to take an Uber because it was cheaper. He offered to arrange a car for me for $65, and I agreed because I thought that was a reasonable price. Once I got into the car, however, the driver told me the price was $110. The gentleman at the door then told him to “give her a deal” and charge me $100. At that point, it was too late for me to change my plans and order an Uber. During the ride, the driver then told me that I would actually have to pay $105. I felt very uncomfortable with the entire situation because the price I was originally quoted was $65, and the amount kept changing after I had already committed to the ride.

Thank goodness for housekeeping, otherwise this review would not be good at all. The room was so small and the bathroom smaller. This was a much different experience than my last stay at the Ameritania.
-
There was scaffolding outside our window which was loud during the day and prevented any sunlight from coming into our room. This should have been disclosed upfront. We would have made another choice.

Great and friendly staff. Excellent location.
