Awful

The room is not what you see on the pictures at all. Bedding and towels are old and look dirty, TV with no channels to watch, service was awful in general. They wouldn’t even change towels when I asked.
-
Bare minimum. Convenient and nice location, however room felt dirty. Arrived and only 1 bath towel, no face clothes or shower mat, no extra pillow cases for extra pillows. Fine if you’re in and out but even then I would pay more for a nicer spot next time. Unfortunately was a regret. Cleaning staff was lovely but besides that mediocre at best.
-
Felt like they were short on towels towards the end of our stay.
-
WORST – Unfortunately, our room (707) was right next to a technical room, so we could hear mechanical noises day and night. We also asked for the TV to be fixed, but it was never taken care of.
-
It was very good granted it did feel a bit small, but it was very homey and I appreciated the staff for being very welcoming. Definitely worth coming back again.
-
It was a great location and the rooms were extremely clean. The front desk staff is always helpful they go above and beyond to accommodate any need you have. I will definitely stay here again.

I was a little worried when I decided to book because the hotel didn’t have great reviews in the past, but my stay was excellent for the price. The room was clean, the offer early check in at a reasonable price, and there is microwave and fridge available which was very useful. There’s also a WholeFoods across the street if you need to buy groceries.

Good

Location was great, price was ok for New York in the summer. The air conditioner in the room was on its last legs, it ran continuously and did not keep the room as cool as it should have.
-
I got the payment taken off, but not sure if they were trying to scam us

Lux Hotel is almost a speakeasy - they might want to even lean into that and make it truly a speakeasy since theres a psychic that occupied most of the front entrance. If the price is low enough this place is worth it. Convenient neighborhood. The rooms arent great. No natural light at all. I honestly wouldn’t know if it’s day or night. Its decently clean. I wish there was a desk lamp so i didnt need the harsh overhead light all the time. Two elevators that are on separate levels in the lobby and both always take forever. The soap was super cheap; made in China which means who knows what chemicals are in it. In short, nothing fancy but worth it for the low price.
-
The place is quite small but generally comfortable and convenient.
-
The staff were all very nice and the room was clean and fresh. Always asking if i needed fesh towels.
-
Good location in the middle of Manhattan. Room was small than expected for 2 people but it was fine. Easy to walk to & from.
-
Service there was fantastic, being very accommodating for a single traveler offering to hold onto bags the day of check in and check out.
-
The lobby had no AC. Makes it bad when coming in from a heatwave. Elevator very slow or didn't even come to my floor (6)
-
Property was ok. When we arrive there were no towels. They did bring some. No washclothes. Infact the front desk said they didn’t have any at all.
-
Pretty convenient place to stay for a few nights. Room is fine for two people, no more than that. If you you going for a fun outdoor few days vacation I for sure recommend this place.
-
The bathrooms are also tiny, with no counter space for toiletries, and there weren’t enough towels provided—no hand towels or washcloths. Another big downside was that the hotel charges a fee to store your luggage in the lobby if your flight is later after checkout. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend staying here and definitely won’t be returning. For the price, there are better options in the city that offer more comfort and basic amenities.
