The hotel staff lied about a lot of things. The rooms were ridiculously small. There was no bar. They have sensors in the rooms aimed at detecing smoke that misfire. There is no coffee maker or refrigerator in the rooms. The hotel does not offer king sized beds. The television is unworkable. Horrible stay.

They put us in Harry potters closet with paper thin walls and no fridge or anything

My favorite place to stay
-
We stayed the first night in a very small room that even though was a non smoking room it did have a distinct smell of stale smoke. We spoke with Mohammad on reception and we were upgraded free of charge to a room about 3 times bigger with walk in wardrobe and very spacious bathroom with a great view of some of NYC's iconic landmarks. We were totally blown away by the size and comfort of the room. Special thanks to Mohammad for being so accommodating.

I like how close the hotel is to both Penn Station and MSG (i took the train to attend a concert at MSG Infosys Theater.

Lobby and location is great but rooms was not good

The hotel was clean and perfectly fine for the three nights I spent in Manhattan. It is close to Times Square and theatreland with eateries everywhere. It was also super close to the metro which was ideal for getting around quickly. Water was hot and water pressure was strong and the air con worked beautifully. I enjoyed my stay. Being accosted by timeshare agents in the hotel. Please stop this. I don't want to spend my short time in NY spending a morning or afternoon, being herded to a place and given the hard sell that is so prevalent in places like Vegas and I am certainly not going to give my credit card details over for the experience.

The location Rooms are old and have a weird smell, does not have towel holder or it was too high. It needs an urgent renovation.

Finally stayed at the famous New Yorker hotel after 15 different trips to NYC. The location was very busy given it is right by Penn Station & MSG, but nonetheless, very convenient! The staff was nice and friendly. The hotel itself though… very very VERY outdated. The walls looked dirty but it appears it was just the wallpaper? Our bathroom was very old and the toilet started leaking the day before we left. The shower also had a few broken pieces. Water pressure was insane. I was very excited to stay here but honestly, it’s not worth what we paid for. If it wasn’t for the staff at least giving us a nice experience and letting us do late checkout, I’d rate it way less. They should really consider renovating.
