    Excellent location

The room was clean but very small. No refrigerator unless you want to pay $50 a day. I liked that you had to show room key to go up in elevators.

You are definitely paying for location, not amenities or space.

This property is below standards and needs considerable renovations.

THE EDGE ...NEAR TIME SQUARE ...

Close to everything. Madison Square Garden right across the street. 24 hr diner in the hotel. Very convenient. Staff friendly and very helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

    Great location!

My credit card didn’t go through so instead of emailing or calling me they gave our room away

The rooms and overall facility are definitely dated. I was surprised to find the bathroom fixtures to be especially older and a window in the shower. However, given the age of the property, the non-modern bits of the decor did not seem old, so much as just dated. The room was extremely clean and the location (and views) were spectacular. Staff was courteous and professional! I would highly recommend this property.

I liked the location of the hotel. Rooms overall were fine, but on the smaller side. The cleaning could use improvement or more attention to detail. For example there were some red stains on the shower curtain and a sock under the mattress. But I felt comfortable and safe there. No sign of bed bugs, which is a major concern of mine when traveling. Would stay again.

Hotel was conveniently located as we were attending a concert. Central to everything, very clean and great security. The only downside was the bathroom,it was very compact. I would stay there again.

Love the New Yorker! The location was perfection, staff was delightful, and it was actually affordable. I recommend upgrading to a suite if possible, the extra space made it possible to relax and breathe after the energy of the city.

The New Yorker was the perfect location for uptown or downtown. It is right across the street from MSG and Penn Station. Super convenient! The price was very reasonable.

The New Yorker is a my go to choice when I'm attending an event at Madison Square Garden. The staff is excellent, and the beds are oh so comfy. The rooms and hallways are showing some wear and tear and some of the rooms are small. Pretty sure what's advertised as a queen bed is actually a double, but it was still fine for two people. The double bed rooms are much larger. While it is not a high end property is is certainly good enough when you don't want to break the bank but still feel safe. 24 hour Tik Tok Diner is a plus. I definitely think it's the best value around this area.

While overall the hotel was good, in terms of location, amenities and staff responsiveness and response time, we didn't have our rooms made up on four occasions, but that might in part be because we left later those dates. Also, the sink was pretty, but a bit small, and there was virutally NO COUNTERSPACE in the bathroom to put anything but a toothbrush and a few other toiletries on! Lastly, the bathroom door had a lot of chipped paint that looked like it hadn't been painted since 1980, and the showerhead looked broken, which is why we didn't feel it would be ok to twist it to change direction for fear of it breaking completely. We also didn't appreciate that there was no ice machine on our floor, and apparently not even on most floors. Lastly, the room door was so hard to close, you had to put all your weight on it to pull it closed when leaving. The best things were the prime location, amazing city view and the strong airconditioning.

Negatives were the slow WiFi (especially when you pay extra for it in the service fee) and the poor maintenance on our floor and in our bathroom - toilet flush was leaking and there were tiles in need of repair. Generally it needs a refurb to bring it up to an expected standard. That being said the hotel was fine for what we needed.

Love this hotel clean and excellent location

Great location. Right next to Penn Station and the subway. A little dated. Would stay again.
