bathroom sink was plugged up, floor looks like it needs cleaning

Our dog was pampered with a fluffy tuffet of a bed + dog bowls and a bag of treats. And there’s a fenced dog area (with poop bags) in the rear courtyard. Parking garage was a quick walk away—make sure you get your ticket validated by the front desk. We would definitely stay again!

Great for solo travel! The hotel is so specious & very up to date!! Metro line is a 7 min walk from hotel. I felt safe all the time, but 8th St. can be a little dark at night. I was not able to enjoy the rooftop as it was closed for special events! Recommend checking if any special events are occurring during your stay!

Great walkable location, decent space in the niche queen room, nice to have microwave and fridge in nyc, felt overpriced overall though. Great views from roof but wouldnt recommend the restaurant food.

Staff was very helpful and the room/property was very clean

Stayed at The Penny Williamsburg for four nights. It's a lovely hotel, in an absolutely fantastic location. The room was comfortable (the bed/ mattress was particularly excellent) and reasonably sized for New York. It would be difficult to beat this location, a short walk to lovely cafes, restaurants, shops, a Trader Joe's, and only one stop over to Manhattan on the L. The restaurant is amazing and the staff at the restaurant are lovely. The only very slight smudge is that the front desk staff, with one notable exception, weren't particularly welcoming/friendly - but perhaps they were having busy days. I would stay here again - a lovely hotel in a great neighbourhood.

Really enjoyed my stay. Booking again.

Fantastic service too to bottom. Especially loved the original artwork and attention to design. Super close to everything in Williamsburg and the subway. Truly the best place to stay when in town.

Everything was excellent and perfectly placed. The room was cute and everything had its own personal space. There was also a full length mirror.Everything was accommodating , especially the fact that pets were allowed. There are entertainment areas for couples within walking distance.

The rooms were very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The staff was very helpful and had some great recommendations for dining.

Really unique. Cool artwork. Awesome friendly staff. We had the “sleeper queen” room—a queen against one wall (so the person sleeping against the wall has to climb over the other, but that worked for us) and a pullout twin sleeper (a little soft but not bad for a sleeper). No king bed rooms. Updated bathroom and kitchenette. Great location near folks we were visiting in Williamsburg. Really close to LGA. We would go back.

Great boutique hotel in heart of Williamsburg

Hotel felt like a hostel, although pricing was high. Front counter and entrance was uninviting. Bed was up against window, allowing access from only 1 side. Resto on roof was pleasant and best part of our stay.

The room was smaller than anticipated. The layout felt like a dorm room, with the bed tucked into a cubby against the wall, requiring one person to climb over the other to get in and out. While the design is modern, it wasn’t functional or comfortable. The lobby was underwhelming and didn’t create a sense of arrival. The staff were generally indifferent. We mentioned at check-in that we were celebrating a milestone birthday, but there was no acknowledgment during our visit. It reinforced the feeling that the hotel was not focused creating memorable experiences. One of our biggest disappointments was the hotel’s restaurant. We asked for assistance with obtaining a reservation. The front desk told us to go to the restaurant to ask vs facilitating for us. We were told nothing was available. Yet when we visited, there were numerous empty tables with the explanation that they were understaffed. Despite the restaurant not being full and our desire to celebrate a birthday, no effort was made to accommodate us or find a solution. Gorgeous views from the rooftop! The hotel is dog-friendly, which is great if you’re traveling with a pet, but something to be aware of. None of these issues individually would have significantly impacted our stay, but together they reflected a lack of attentiveness and service. For a hotel at this price point, I expected a more thoughtful, guest-focused experience especially for a big birthday.
