Residence Inn by Marriott New York Manhattan/Times Square

As always, great location. Nice breakfast bar (a whole floor). Great front office staff. Helpful.

My biggest issue was the elevator wait time. Yesterday (morning of the 6th)I had to checkout, I waited 35 mins for the elevator as I was staying on a higher floor and it was not an option to use the stairs. For the duration of my trip, this was the case (average 15 mins wait for elevator. I would not stay here again because of this.

Very convenient location located on the corner of 39th and 6th, close to MTA stations. However, if you want to avoid the tourist trap that is Times Square, during the summer FiDi is less busy and less busy. Room was quiet, the free breakfast was good, for being included. Only issue I had was being on the 18th floor and with an elevator out of service and another being worked on, waited 25 minutes on the floor, until I decided to take the stairs down. Mind you I was also carrying a 4 year old in one arm and a 50lb suitcase in the other hand. Other than that, I would recommend, room gives you a large fridge, sink, microwave, dishwasher. I can’t fault the pull out mattress comfort, because it’s a pull out mattress, just be careful when switching positions as you normally would or you’ll get a bar in the back and a spring in the elbow, LOL.

Paid onsite parking is big drawback. Having to pay so much for parking in addition to already expensive nightly room rate is a big negative. Also, the AC in rooms were not functioning well as the temperatures were not going below 72/73. In one of the rooms we rented, 1004(rented from Jun 30th to July 4th), the AC had an issue where water leakage occured. The hotel staff put a blower to take care of it which made the room even hotter. This was a big inconvenience on a very hot summer time. Staff didn't offer any compensation for tuis inconvenience what so ever.

Paid parking is big drawback. Having to pay for parking even after paying so expensive nightly rate for rooms is a big negative. Also, one of the rooms we rented had AC issues where some leakage happened and a blower had to be setup to dry it and caused lot of inconvenience due to no AC on a very hot summer.

The breakfast was excellent, so many options to eat, the dining room was spacious and it was nice to be able to watch the World Cup matches in the lounge. The room was nice, clean and spacious. It was 2 beds with kitchen and bathroom. It was good size for a family of 4.

We had a GREAT stay the the Residence by Marriott. We were able to get off the train at Grand Central Station and make the short walk to the hotel. Checked in a bit early and were very impressed with everything in this hotel. Our room had two twin beds and kitchen (no stove) with nice views of the city. It was a short walk away from Times Square and Broadway. About a mile from Central Park. Breakfast was about as good of a hotel breakfast as we have ever had. They had water available in the lobby (it was HOT!). When we got delayed in Central Park, hotel staff gave us a late check out and held our bags until we had to leave for our departing train. Excellent hotel!

The breakfast buffet can have bigger space it was very crowded - vegetarian options (no eggs) were very very limited. The elevator we had to wait sometimes for more than 15 minutes only two were functioning at a time

Hotel was clean with new carpets, staff is also cooperative and helpful. Location is good, minutes away from all the main sightseeing landmarks, so no need to rent a car. Very accommodating front staff, accepted to take care of our luggage as we arrived earlier in the morning before the checkin time. Local restaurant for dinner. Cons: Issue with the facility maintenance where we saw almost daily issues with the elevators, been stopped by the cleaning staff, not sure cleaning staff should have the keys to disable elevators from use. Waited long time specially at the morning breakfast time, going for breakfast was a challenge. Breakfast was all ok but menu has the opportunity for improvement. Other point we noticed was that either the bathroom has no exhaust fan or some where controlled remotely through a duct. Elevators has no fans and when elevators are full, felt suffocating. Overall an ok experience!

The staff were very helpful and nice during our stay. Our room was changed every time we come back into our room.
