The suite was perfect for our family of four! Great location.
-
The property is beautiful.
-
The room was very clean and the staff was helpful.

Love this hotel and try to stay here when I come to NYC. They really offer top notch hospitality and a very lovely facility. 10 stars!!

The room thermostat was cumbersome. It did not separate cooling and heating. It never shut off at the setpoint, you ended up with an overheated or over cooled room. We had to shut it off entirely at night, otherwise it would go all night....

Super clean and helpful staff. Would definitely stay again.
-
great kitchenette in room, very useful. all areas spotlessly clean. really comfortable beds and choice of pillow types. massive flat screen TVs. Good location 1 block from well connected subway station. Walking distance to Central Park and sites on 5th Avenue. Lots of food choices locally, and reception would hold take out orders until you get down.

The Benjamin was amazing. Great location and friendly staff. Loved our suite

The biggest positive was the front desk staff. They were genuinely friendly, professional, and very helpful throughout my stay. That said, I don't think this hotel lives up to its advertised 5-star status. It's more of a solid 4-star property. While many areas have been renovated and the hotel has a nice boutique feel, you can still tell it's an older building. My biggest complaint was the aging HVAC system—it was quite noisy and took away from the overall comfort of the room. The location is excellent, the rooms are spacious by New York standards, and the hotel has a lot of charm. But if you're expecting a true luxury 5-star experience, you may be disappointed. With a few more updates and attention to the older infrastructure, it could get there. As it stands, it's a very good hotel, just not a great one.

Why demean the brand with such charges?

The staff at the restaurant were excellent. Great service great people.

We have stayed here multiple times and have noticed the cleanliness has started to not be consistent. The last two times the duvets have had mysterious stains and the robes aren’t clean. There was 1 plate and 2 bowls in the cabinet and no sweeteners for the coffee and tea service. It took 3+ hours to get a new duvet and last time they switched our room because of a gnat problem. The staff is very nice but I think there may not be enough of them to service the hotel. Also we booked through expedia and had additional tax and a $45 service fee per night. I think we are going to find a new hotel when we come to stay in nyc.

Initial room wasn't ideal - phone didn't work and sofa bed was not prepared as requested. Staff kindly assisted with a better room.

Room was impeccable! Staff went above and beyond.

What truly made the experience memorable was the restaurant staff. They were some of the friendliest and most welcoming people I have encountered during my travels. Every morning and evening, they greeted guests with genuine smiles, provided excellent service, and went above and beyond to ensure everyone felt valued and comfortable. Their professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail turned every meal into a pleasant experience. I would gladly stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting New York.
