We are suburban NJ residents, former Manhattan workers and still frequent visitors to the city, in for a long weekend to celebrate our 50th Anniversary. We had already booked our restaurant, ballet, theatre, modern dance tickets and planned museum visits. We had no need for concierge services, the onsite restaurant, or fitness center, so I can't opine on those. Our main criteria were easy access to Manhattan subways and buses, and located bit away from the noise and crowding of the Times Square hotels (our stay was during both World Cup and Pride March 2026), with a clean, reasonably spacious room. The Chemists Club Hotel satisfied on all counts. Extra points for the comfortable bed. I normally take about a week to acclimate to a strange bed, this one felt just like home. Front desk staff was helpful for our minimal needs. Criticisms are few and minor: Would have preferred a hand held shower head instead of or in addition to the adjustable overhead one. The other is the mandatory "refreshment fee." I know this is common throughout NYC hotels, so it's not specific to this place, and it wouldn't have made a difference in our choice where to stay, but it feels a bit ungracious. All that said, will definitely come back on our next occasion.

Loved this hotel! Safe was super friendly, very clean, it’s beautiful and great air conditioning which was important while it was 100 degrees outside. Definitely recommend The Chemist Club Hotel!

Need to keep the price level to stay attractive though

Live out of the country but arrived from California after a visit with family. Sister-in-law had an art opening downtown (it was amazing), so she stayed with me the second night. We were both very comfortable, and we both know the city. The location was excellent for getting to her show and for taking the LIRR to meet my new grand-niece on Long Island. I picked the hotel for the easy access to the train and the subway, but loved the area as a whole. Hated the few steps at the entry - mostly because the door opens OUT, which makes for a not-so-smooth entry into the lobby. Not a big issue, but it's awkward.

My husband and I had a great stay at the Chemist Club in June 2026. The hotel was in a fantastic location really close to Grand Central Station and was very much a modern, boutique hotel. The recent renovation has been done well and it was great to see that our room looked exactly like the photos on the website. Our room (Classic, King) was a good size, clean and comfortable - the bed and air con were probably the two best things. We made use of the gym during our stay which was reasonably equipped, clean and a good size for four to five guests to use at the same time. We really appreciated the towels and chilled water that was always stocked in the gym for guests to use. The staff were polite and helpful, the hotel was clean and well decorated throughout and it was great to have two quick, well functioning and nicely decorated lifts in a relatively small hotel. The only thing that would have made our stay even better would have been a clearer explanation on check in on what was included in the additional $40 we were charged each day as it wasn't entirely clear and we received mixed messaging from staff. As a result, we weren't clear on whether this was for WiFI, use of the coffee machine in the room and water (as well as items in the mini bar or not) and therefore we didn't use items in the mini bar that we potentially could have. Other than that, we had a great stay and would recommend The Chemist Club if you're looking for nice boutique hotels near Grand Central station.

The property was clean and in a fantastic location. We had a brilliant room. The staff were lovely. I will happily recommend this hotel to future guests and I would stay there again. If I had to suggest anything, I would suggest including breakfast as an option in the price.

Clean, lovely spacious room & bathroom, nice decor, great doormen, fab gym, great location!
-
location, size and cleanliness of the property were all great. there was a midnight disturbance with guests on the 15th/16th floors. The volume was jarring. obviously not the Hotels fault and it was handled, but it took some time to get it settled.
-
I didn’t need the station but nice French brasserie for breakfast was useful The hotel dining room was dark and depressing even though the breakfast was excellent and staff very accommodating and polite.

Great hotel in a great location. Would gladly stay again on our next trip!

The Chemist Club is just a wonderful NYC hotel. We live in the nyc suburbs and had a planned event that went late in the night so we decided to reserve a hotel. Nice sized rooms, super friendly and helpful staff. I left some jewelry in the room and they held it for me until I could return to pick it up. Highly recommend!

Excellent small hotel near Grand Central. Comfortable well lit rooms with good thermostat controls. Bathroom well designed with good shelving. Pleasant gym with decent rowing machine. Lots of breakfast choices nearby. Staff were helpful and knowledgable. Would stay there again.

The rooms are large and very comfortable. We had the best night's sleep of our trip.

Nice place close to a very good restaurant I love it Benjamin Prime

Housekeeping should really get to the rooms earlier than the late afternoon and the lack of a smart or internet enabled TV is very odd given the recent total refurbishment. And while it's nice to have a Nespresso machine it would be helpful if it wasn't so difficult to get (non-decaffeinated) pods for it and if more than two pods were available (even if they had to be paid for).
