I booked this hotel for a quick getaway my husband and I planned, and I couldn’t be happier. Room was clean and updated, staff were helpful, and location was great. I would definitely recommend and would stay again!

I just want to say that the staff was AMAZING from the time we checked in until the day of check out! Super helpful and professional. Bridget the front desk rep was fabulous. She gave us restaurant and night life recommendations and they were on point! The front desk manager was just as awesome. The bell person service was great as well. Overall I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend. Location was also prime.

Excellent location and overall a cute boutique hotel! The only issue I faced was with the AM bot working during summer

II has the most convenient location near Grand Central and Bryant Park. Staff at check in and check out in the front desk were kinda indifferent to us. Not very engaging or nice like other hotels we’ve been in the City. Rooms are very pretty but they have to pay more attention to small details like scratches on the walls. TV didn’t quite get the cable signal most of the time we try to watch it. Elevator is old, noisy and kinda jumpy. We even found a room service cart fill with lots of dirty dishes and cups traveling all the way up and down with no one from the staff. The hotel charge around 50 per night for the mini bar eve if you don’t drink or eat anything from it. It’s an old building so higher floors tend to make weird noises coming from floors and walls. We do liked the room furniture, the AC, the amenities and the design in general.

The room was a great size and depicted well in the photos. The room lighting wasn’t the best and only mirrors were in th closet and in the bathroom. Not much counter space to put items in while getting ready. Air conditioning was perfect to bear the very hot and humid weather outside in July. Upon laying down in bed after a long flight and paying $60 for early check in there were medium length straight black hairs on the sheets which did not come from me (I have long red hair) and my spouse has curly hair. We took these pieces off and disregarded but found another under a pillow. Besides that the over cleanness of the hotel was great. Refreshing drinks as you walk in. Near by everything and a block from Geand Central making it easy to transport to the Mets game, Yankee stadium, Brooklyn and more

Front desk staff are polite however not super helpful. Great location

The location was another huge plus, just a short walk to Grand Central Station, which made getting around the city so easy. Overall, a great experience, and we’d definitely stay here again next time we’re in town!

Amazing stay. An exceptional boutique hotel. Like staying with a dear (wealthy) and generous friend. I recommend the room with a balcony.

Average at best - no facilities and not really a 5 star hotel and definitely not worth the price - close to grand central which is a plus

did not get requested information from concierage prior to our arrival - we called twice and talked to concierage and was told we would get emails. Was not greeted in evening when we walked inside lobby - the front desk people did not even look up.

We are suburban NJ residents, former Manhattan workers and still frequent visitors to the city, in for a long weekend to celebrate our 50th Anniversary. We had already booked our restaurant, ballet, theatre, modern dance tickets and planned museum visits. We had no need for concierge services, the onsite restaurant, or fitness center, so I can't opine on those. Our main criteria were easy access to Manhattan subways and buses, and located bit away from the noise and crowding of the Times Square hotels (our stay was during both World Cup and Pride March 2026), with a clean, reasonably spacious room. The Chemists Club Hotel satisfied on all counts. Extra points for the comfortable bed. I normally take about a week to acclimate to a strange bed, this one felt just like home. Front desk staff was helpful for our minimal needs. Criticisms are few and minor: Would have preferred a hand held shower head instead of or in addition to the adjustable overhead one. The other is the mandatory "refreshment fee." I know this is common throughout NYC hotels, so it's not specific to this place, and it wouldn't have made a difference in our choice where to stay, but it feels a bit ungracious. All that said, will definitely come back on our next occasion.

Loved this hotel! Safe was super friendly, very clean, it’s beautiful and great air conditioning which was important while it was 100 degrees outside. Definitely recommend The Chemist Club Hotel!

Need to keep the price level to stay attractive though

My husband and I had a great stay at the Chemist Club in June 2026. The hotel was in a fantastic location really close to Grand Central Station and was very much a modern, boutique hotel. The recent renovation has been done well and it was great to see that our room looked exactly like the photos on the website. Our room (Classic, King) was a good size, clean and comfortable - the bed and air con were probably the two best things. We made use of the gym during our stay which was reasonably equipped, clean and a good size for four to five guests to use at the same time. We really appreciated the towels and chilled water that was always stocked in the gym for guests to use. The staff were polite and helpful, the hotel was clean and well decorated throughout and it was great to have two quick, well functioning and nicely decorated lifts in a relatively small hotel. The only thing that would have made our stay even better would have been a clearer explanation on check in on what was included in the additional $40 we were charged each day as it wasn't entirely clear and we received mixed messaging from staff. As a result, we weren't clear on whether this was for WiFI, use of the coffee machine in the room and water (as well as items in the mini bar or not) and therefore we didn't use items in the mini bar that we potentially could have. Other than that, we had a great stay and would recommend The Chemist Club if you're looking for nice boutique hotels near Grand Central station.

The Chemist Club is just a wonderful NYC hotel. We live in the nyc suburbs and had a planned event that went late in the night so we decided to reserve a hotel. Nice sized rooms, super friendly and helpful staff. I left some jewelry in the room and they held it for me until I could return to pick it up. Highly recommend!
