a very pleasant stay. will come again.

The staff was top notch! We had a blast for the 4th of July weekend
-
We booked this room for 4th of July weekend because our normal hotel we stay at in the city was out of our price range and we were not disappointed! The room was very spacious with 2 side chairs along with two desk type chairs, a large desk, dresser, mini fridge, full closet, a king sized bed with tons of room to walk around, and a large bathroom with large tub and tons of counter space. The room was clean and well appointed. We ordered breakfast via the room service card for 8:30 and it arrived exactly at 8:30 and was delicious. The location is fabulous, close to everything but felt like it was tucked away. It’s just down the street from Radio City Music Hall one direction and Times Square the other. The room was perhaps the quietest room we have ever stayed in. I didn’t hear anything at all except them vacuuming the hallway when I was in the bathroom right inside the room. Some might say the finishes are slightly dated but my husband and I like the character that provides. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay here again!

Super handy location. Great food options, subway station close by. Windows double glazed to keep street noises out. Gym equipment could be upgraded

Location was central to everything and the staff was amazing!
-
We loved the location, staff, size of the room, everyday room service. Missing facilities, newness of the property, there is mold in the sink, bath tub
-
Location and the staff No coffee machine in the room

Rooms were spacious and well appointed. Not much - not in house dining.

some of the staff In two days that I was there the never service my room, I order platter of cold cuts and cheese and it was spoiled

Old French / European style interior. Facility is old, but well maintained. Location is the best. Service is great. Shower drainage issue ! Water didn’t drain quickly enough during the showers. A little disgusting as you have to shower in a bathtub. Old facilities and furnitures - tho I think this is quite standard for Manhattan. No matter where you go, I assume it will be the similar quality as the city is overpopulated and old.

Yes, it would be nice if they could spruce up the furniture in the lobby, but that is a minor issue, given the very positive things about it. My only complaint is the "Residence Fee" that I paid as I checked out, and prior to that, I didn't know how much it would be. I honestly don't understand why that isn't just added to the room rate as listed on Hotels.com. But I would gladly stay there again!

We booked this hotel based on its excellent ratings. However, this was not our experience. The first room we were assigned to was a ““ upgraded room. The room smelled so musty that we requested another room. When we arrived in the second room, the musty odor was still there, but not as strong. The immediate issues we faced was a trashcan that had not been emptied, a broken, toilet paper holder, and an empty vanity kit. Small problems yes but for the price, we would expect a little more attention to details. The shower filled with water, even though the toggle was open. There were stains on the chairs, which seriously need to be replaced. The hotel is old, as our most in New York, but there was a significant amount of chipping, broken wood, and mold. We have stayed in many hotels in New York that were less expensive and better cared for. There was a mini bar with $13 soda, whiskey, candy, etc. There was no coffee in the room or in the lobby. Small problem, yes, but this is standard in all hotels. Most of the staff members were a bit rude and when we called back after our stay looking for a copy of our bill that was never sent to our Email the rudeness was palpable.

This is probably one of my worst stays in New York. Upon arrival, they didn’t know which room to put us in. When we got into our first room, it smelled so musty and old we asked to be moved. The next room had trash in the trash can, stains on the chair, and had an old musty smell to it. When taking a shower, the bathtub filled up with water. The drain was open, but it was so clogged that the water couldn’t go down the drain. The toilet paper roll was broken. There was a vanity box that was supposed to contain cotton balls and the lake and it was completely empty. There was dirt and mold like material at the baseboard. The paint was chipping in the carpet was disgusting. They had a mini bar filled with extremely expensive items for sale, but couldn’t manage to provide coffee or any useful amenities. Most of the staff was rude except for a few I understand that hotels in New York are expensive, but this was a complete waste of money. I wish I had stayed somewhere else.

Perfect location for theater goers and Times Square. You can walk to many theaters, restaurants and tourist attractions. I always stay at The Michaelangelo when in NYC- it’s like my home away from home.

The Michelangelo hotel is an older hotel, but very well maintained and the room was very spacious. It is in a wonderful location if one is going to the theatre as it is close, but not in the midst of the Times Square Noise. We had an interior room and it was completely quiet. The breakfasts were very good. The doormen were friendly and cooperative. My only objections was the add on "Residence Fee" of $45.00. The hotel was fair value during the first week of World Cup Soccer.
