The Ridge Hotel

I stayed there overnight and happened to be there during the fireworks season. I won't even mention the noise levels in the room—it felt like the fireworks were exploding right over my head. There was absolutely no soundproofing, largely because the air conditioner was installed directly into the window, effectively leaving a gap where part of the window should have been. It was hard to sleep. That said, the air conditioner itself was excellent; it cooled the room down very effectively, which was exactly what I needed. I also noticed that cleanliness wasn't given proper attention. While the sink, toilet, floor, and bed were clean, the rest wasn't—there were dried soap residues on the shower walls. The light fixtures above the bed looked as though they had been wiped down with a dusty rag that had just been used on a dirty table; they really stood out the moment I turned on the lights.

Clean room, friendly staff, great location

The stairwell door was very loud, and maybe some room doors people slammed. Woke me up many times. You will hear noise outside (cars, sirens and people) I was on the 2nd floor and there was noise late. Not anything the hotel can do for that though, just be aware of noise you may hear.

Super easy and staff nice

The bed was also uncomfortable, and the room itself was very basic. On the positive side, the staff were very friendly and helpful, which is why I'm giving it 3 stars

The neighbourhood felt safe and it is close to many of the tourist attractions.

Clean room, shops nearby, staff was generally unhelpful. No plastic utensils, held bags before check in but wouldn't hold them for an hour at checkout

I did appreciate that the air conditioning was turned on when I arrived. However there was a faint smell of pee emanating from the A/C. Location worked. Unsure if there was supposed to be daily room cleanings as I had zero for 4 night stay (though I did not need it). Website provides little accommodation information on what to expect. The room was old and worn out. Various paint opportunities as well a a loose shower head fixture that has broken away from its seal on the wall. Bed was hard

Cockroach’s and awful smelled with drinks everywhere. The room smells like someone pissed themselves on the floor

The Ridge had everything I needed in an excellent location. Check in was so easy and the rooftop was amazing.

Nothing in the lotion dispenser Dirty bedside table. Dirty floor. Loud incessant bed thumping and grunting from next door - walls paper thin. Sketchy guests/clientele
