U Hotel Fifth Avenue

In a great part of town for theater and all things meant down. Can be a little loud with traffic and the honking. But staff is great and the rooms are fine.

The hotel was clean but is a very small hotel. The location was good because of walking distances to the subway, next to the Empire State building and Korean town. The reasons why this hotel did not get 5 stars are there is no room service so you can't order food (the resort fee made no sense as an additional charge on top of nightly stay). Also, there is no phone in the room to call the lobby or housekeeping so you would have to manually go to the front desk.

The location is convenient. The room was very small. 2 people can't event walk around each other hardly. The rooms are not well sound-proofed and we heard traffic and sirens all night long. There was no coffee and everyday we had to go down to Starbucks. The lobby is extremely small and, in the mornings when people are checking out, it is very chaotic and crowded to the point where you can barely move to even get out and go outside. Tons of luggage was stored in the lobby for customers which made it even harder to navigate. For the amount we paid per night, it was just not worth it at all. If you're just looking for someplace to sleep, it's fine but way overpriced.

Staff was friendly, rooms were clean, long term maintenance could be better. Toilet needed to be flushed multiple times, drain wouldn't stay open, chips in furniture + decor, hardware missing from lamps, etc. Faint cigarette and Fabuloso scent in carpet.

location and staff the room did not feel well arranged -- too much bed for too little space and we did not like the wall to wall rug -- I think the room was clean, but the rug did not make it feel that way

The room was very clean and very quiet. The location was perfect! The entire staff was super friendly and helpful! I liked this hotel so much that we will be going back! I just wish that there was a better deal financially! It was very expensive for basically a room. But other than that I do not have any complaints.

the place is small as to be expected for any NYC Manhattan hotel room. The room was clean and my spouse LOVED the blowdryer that was in the unit. the rooms are indeed tight and the streets are indeed noisy but we were able to get great sleep as we spent the week exploring everything a new tourist to town should explore. the front desk always had water for us as we returned back to our place and was able to provide us for towels/sheets/pillows upon request. I'd say some of the reviews of this place are extremely unfair. it was exactly what we needed it to be for our stay. we'd book again if we can time the pricing right but next time we may be staying over the bridge closer to friends.
