Westgate New York Grand Central

Pur room in particular was NOT clean! One of the beds was made with hair and debris between the sheets, we were not properly stocked with towels, the floors had clearly not been swept and the amount of dust was astounding! When i called about it, it took nearly 2 hours to get an attendant to come change the sheets as the person answering in the evening was a service and not the desk, i couldnt sleep till nearly 2am and was EXTREMELY disappointed! The door men Matthew and bar/shop attendant Sam were amazing! The front desk staff first day Thursday afternoon was wonderful however after that they were very uncaring and cold. The building was clean and beautiful with historic charm.

I've stayed at this property before, and will stay here again.

Check in was quick and easy. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very clean. We had a short but pleasant stay.

Great place

Awesome location. I know NY pretty well and would definitely suggest this location because you’re close walking distance to the subway and many attractions, but away from the craziness of Midtown. Plus, the hotel is right around the corner from the UN. The staff was generally helpful and friendly. The beds were comfortable and the king room is actually roomy by NY standards. It’s a bit dated, but perhaps in a retro way. The parking policies are ridiculous but most people would not have a car in NYC anyway.

The staff was welcoming, answered all of our questions and provided us with free water when we arrived too. The rooms are kind of small and the view from our window wasn't spectacular but it was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was not included in the initial cost for the room, unfortunately, which ran us over $250 a person per night. I do wish the bar stayed open a little later than 11 pm too! It was closed by the time we came back to the hotel for the night. The location of the hotel is pretty nice, time square being roughly 20 minutes walking distance. When compared to other prices around Manhattan it's a decent midway point.

Clean and well-maintained room!

We had a great stay at the Westgate. The location is great…very walkable to Grand Central and lots of food options. Very friendly staff. We appreciated the free bottles of water each day. We would definitely stay here again.

Clean room. quiet, good elevators , nice bathrooms. Bar in the hotel lobby was pleasant.

I like the cleaners, the reception, especially Mr Matthew for his assistance. The location, too. It's located in 42nd street, the busiest street in the city yet I was able to enjoy peace and quiet. The scent of the hotel is so clean. Also the bag of breakfast. The window, it's outdated and difficult to open.

Great location No ramps at the hotel entrance. Hard to bring in luggage. Room was dark, insufficient lighting. Breakfast could be improved. Pastries are cold. Provide cheese instead of fruity yogurt.

The doormen. Michael and Tony are wonderful For the second time during our several stays we had trouble getting our room cleaned .. despite putting the correct notice on our door and being out of our room for hours .. reception were rather unhelpful and rather rude and dismissive .,

I like the place is well kept. Had a problem when I got there I was told everything was close to me. Yeah miles away n on train.lil. my first room was like being in a jail room all walls no views

Elevators anyone can come in with no key card and access the building, also you need to add your location to uber services I missed 5 drivers due to the location being hard to find and almost missed my flight!
