Frequently asked questions

What should I look for in a wedding hotel in State College?
A good wedding hotel offers ample reception and banquet space, on-site guest rooms for your out-of-town guests, and facilities like getting-ready suites. The Ramada by Wyndham State College Hotel & Conference Center and The Nittany Lion Inn each feature reception space of about 4,300 square feet, while Toftrees Golf Resort offers about 4,800 square feet in its Croquet Lawn. These properties also provide guest rooms ranging from 102 to 284, so your guests can stay where you celebrate.
What amenities do guests typically find at these hotels?
Amenities like parking, wifi, shuttle service, and on-site dining vary by property, so it's worth comparing what each hotel offers. Many of the hotels on this list provide convenient access to meals and transportation, which helps out-of-town guests feel at home. You can review the details for each property when you search and compare on Engine.
How do I decide which hotel to book for my wedding guests?
Compare the number of guest rooms, the location relative to your ceremony venue, and the event space available for your reception. Toftrees Golf Resort has 27 event spaces and 102 rooms, The Nittany Lion Inn has 10 event spaces and 230 rooms, and the Ramada has 9 event spaces and 284 rooms. Think about how many guests you expect, how close you want everyone to the festivities, and whether you'd like your reception and accommodations at the same property.
How does billing work when I book a room block for my wedding?
Engine offers consolidated invoicing and multiple payment options, with no membership fee. For a block of 9 or more guest rooms, Engine Groups handles the booking. For 8 rooms or fewer, you can book self-serve through the platform.
Should I choose a hotel close to my ceremony venue or one that's convenient for the wedding party?
It depends on your priorities. If your ceremony is at a separate location, a hotel nearby saves guests travel time and makes logistics easier. If your reception and accommodations are at the same property, the wedding party and guests can move seamlessly from getting ready to celebrating. Either way, Engine lets you search and compare hotels across State College so you can find the right fit for your big day.
