Frequently asked questions

What should I look for in a Phoenix hotel for a large corporate meeting?
Look for properties with substantial meeting space, enough guest rooms to accommodate your group, and on-site facilities that keep attendees in one place. The JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort & Spa offers about 241,000 square feet of event space and 29 meeting rooms, while the Arizona Biltmore provides about 200,000 square feet of event space. Hotels with ballrooms, breakout rooms, and on-site dining make it easier to run a multi-day program.
How do conference attendees get to Phoenix, and should I book near the airport?
Most attendees fly into Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, the airport serving Phoenix and the surrounding metro area. Many conference hotels offer shuttle service or are a short drive from the airport, so proximity depends on your agenda. If your event venue is downtown or in the resort corridor, staying near the meeting site usually makes more sense than clustering everyone at the airport.
How far in advance should I reserve hotel rooms for a conference in Phoenix?
For a large meeting, start looking at least three to six months out to secure room blocks and meeting space, especially during peak season in the cooler months. Popular properties with significant event space, like the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown with about 112,000 square feet and 26 meeting rooms, book up early. Locking in your dates and rate early also gives your team more time to plan travel.
Can Engine help with both the hotel rooms and the meeting space for my event?
Yes. For guest rooms, if your group needs nine or more rooms, Engine Groups handles the room block; for eight or fewer, you can book self-serve through the platform. For the meeting or event space itself, you can find and request venues through Engine Spaces, Engine's venue product that connects planners to meeting and event space. Engine offers consolidated invoicing, pre-negotiated rates, and no membership fee.
What amenities can I expect at these hotels for conference travelers?
Most properties on this list offer on-site dining, business centers, fitness facilities, and parking, though specifics vary by hotel. Wifi, AV capabilities, and catering options are typically available, but confirm details with the property when you request meeting space. The larger resort and convention hotels often have multiple restaurants, pools, and other amenities that make it easy for attendees to stay on-site between sessions.
