Same order as the list above: ranked by a hotel's total event space across all its meeting rooms. The largest single room is shown here, so that column can run out of order. Space figures come from each hotel's meeting-space records. A dash means the hotel's data doesn't list that detail, not that it's unavailable.

Frequently asked questions

What amenities can I expect at conference hotels in Alabama?

Most properties offer parking, wifi, and on-site dining, though specifics vary by hotel. The Renaissance Montgomery Hotel & Spa at the Convention Center, for example, sits adjacent to downtown Montgomery and provides easy access for attendees. Check each property's listing on Engine to confirm the amenities that matter most for your event.

How does billing work when I book rooms for a large conference?

Engine offers consolidated invoicing for your entire stay, so you're not chasing receipts from individual travelers. You'll have multiple payment options and no membership fee. This streamlined approach works whether your group is in Birmingham, Montgomery, or Florence.

How do I book a block of guest rooms for my conference attendees?

For a stay of 9 or more rooms, Engine Groups handles the room-block booking. For 8 rooms or fewer, you can book self-serve through Engine's platform. Both options give you access to pre-negotiated rates across Alabama properties.

Can Engine help with both the guest rooms and the meeting space for my event?

Yes. For the guest rooms, Engine Groups handles stays of 9 or more rooms, and you can book 8 or fewer self-serve. For the meeting or event space itself, planners can find and request a venue through Engine Spaces, Engine's venue product that connects you to meeting and event space across the country. That means you can manage both sides of your conference through one platform.

What should I compare when choosing a conference hotel across different Alabama cities?

Start with the size and number of event spaces. The Renaissance Montgomery has a largest event space of about 73,000 square feet and can accommodate up to 7,756 people, while the Sheraton Birmingham offers about 38,000 square feet in its largest space and 69 total event spaces. Also consider guest-room count (the Sheraton Birmingham has 757 rooms, the Renaissance Montgomery 345), location relative to the airport or downtown, and amenities that fit your attendees' needs. Engine lets you compare these hotels side by side so you can book the right fit for your group.
